| Final and Most Successful Locomotive
The final and most successful steam locomotive class was the BB18.1/4". It was first delivered in July 1951 and when No 1089 entered service in March 1958, it was the last mainlline steam locomotive built in Australia. Some are still restored and running excursions today. |
