VERSATILE DIVIDING HEAD

BY

THE LATE MR. G H THOMAS

Originally described in the Model Engineer in 1979 this unique device has been made by many model engineers worldwide and has received universal acclaim. Now, having received approval from the world concessionaires Messr. NS & A Hemingway U.K., we are very pleased to offer the components required to build the head to the Australian market.

The main gear is arranged for direct indexing and has 60 teeth for indirect indexing through three division plates each with six circles of holes. The micro attachment adjusts the selected division plate to the main worm shaft and thereby enabling an almost infinite number of indexing positions to be obtained. This is an extremely useful tool for any workshop and yet its construction is within the capabilities of most home engineers.

We are importing certain components and quality Australian made items to complete the set offering. The main gear with precision cut gear teeth is supplied complete with 24 drilled holes for direct indexing. The micro gear with precision cut teeth, and 9 main and micro worm shafts with cut worms are imported from Hemingway's U.K. The high quality grey iron castings for the headstock, tailstock, microworm spindle bracket and adaptor plates are Queensland made and are guaranteed to be of first class quality. Division plates are precision cut to ensure flat faces with a minimum of' machining required.
